Corgi VA14502 Wolswagen Type 2 Campervan Model

Corgi Toys have been creating metal die-cast toys in some shape or form since 1933. Their most popular range of cars and other vehicles includes a number of famous vehicles as featured in films and TV series, particularly British shows. Their models don’t require assembly and make great little gifts and keepsakes.

The Volkswagen Type 2 was in production from 1950 through to 1967 has become one of the most iconic vehicles of modern times. This classic van was originally designed and used as a light commercial vehicle with pickup and van variants being used, but it became popular with the hippie counterculture of the 1960s due to the model being cheap and easy to maintain. This led to the Type 2 being referred to as the ‘hippie van’, with vans often being painted in bright colours and extravagant designs. In more modern day, many of these have been converted and restored into campervans and are still in use.
