Piececool Mogul 2-6-0 Locomotive Steam Train

Piececool metal model kits are a wonderful challenge for model builders who enjoy piecing together models but would rather not have to worry about gluing pieces or painting the final model. Each Piececool model comes with flat stainless steel metal sheets from which the metal parts of the model can be pressed out.

It’s worth noting that some of the pieces are very small and intricate, so some care and at times, a steady hand is required to press them out from the sheet and fold their tabs in order to piece them together. It’s recommended that the Piececool tool set is purchased along with the model, or any flat nose pliers would do.

The Mogul classification of steam locomotive is 2-6-0 – meaning 2 leading wheels, 6 driving wheels and no trailing wheels – mainly used in the UK and US on tender locomotives from the late 1800s to early 1900s. It’s a classic model of locomotive and wonderfully representative of the industrial era.

This wonderful locomotive metal model kit from Piececool comes in 282 pieces and is suitable for adults and teenagers. The stainless steel pieces come in flat sheets and are laser etched with colourings and details, so no painting is necessary when the model is complete. The pieces are assembled by bending tags to slot the pieces together – it’s recommended that you have tweezers or flat nose pliers handy to help with this as many of the pieces are small and intricate. The finished model is 17 x 5 x 8cm.
