The Spitfire Mk IIa signified a marked improvement over the Spitfire Mk I, with an upgraded Merlin XII engine and wide-bladed propellers. This combination increased the top speed of the Mk II by around 6-7 mph and offered an improved climb rate, giving it a far superior combat capability. The Mk IIa variant is the eight-gun version of the aircraft.
This 115 part, 1:32 scale model of the Spitfire Mk IIa from Revell is an advanced difficulty kit so experience with gluing and painting is recommended. The finished model is 28.6cm in length with a wingspan of 35.1cm. A great gift for more experienced model builders.
