Airfix is a British model making company that have been producing injection-moulded plastic scale model kits since 1939. Airfix model kits are so popular in the UK that the brand has become synonymous with plastic model kits. Their range includes cars, naval vessels, aircraft and trains, and they are particularly well known for their range of military models, particularly WW2-era models.

The Avro Lancaster Bomber is a British Second World War heavy bomber, first seeing service in 1942 as the Allies strategic bombing offensive began. Capable of carrying the largest bombs used by the RAF (up to 12,000lb), the Lancester Bomber one of the most heavily used night bombers. The aircraft was so versatile it was adapted to carry “bouncing bombs”, made famous in the 1955 film ‘The Dam Busters’. A truly iconic British military aircraft!

This wonderfully detailed 235 part, 1:72 scale model of the Avro Lancaster is a great model kit for aviation history and model making enthusiasts. A skill level 3 and more parts than small models makes it intermediate difficulty so some skill is required when assembling.
