Description
Metal Earth produces a large number of licensed and classic metal model kits. Each kit comes with a few flat sheets of metal pieces that can be pressed out and assembled by following the simple instructions, resulting in a wonderful little steel model.
The Avro Lancaster Bomber is a British Second World War heavy bomber, first seeing service in 1942 as the Allies strategic bombing offensive began. Capable of carrying the largest bombs used by the RAF (up to 12,000lb), the Lancester Bomber one of the most heavily used night bombers. The aircraft was so versatile it was adapted to carry “bouncing bombs”, made famous in the 1955 film ‘The Dam Busters’. A truly iconic British military aircraft!
This lovely little metal kit from Metal Earth is simpler than other kits at 22 pieces, although the small and intricate size of the pieces means it may be a challenge for beginners. The metal pieces are assesmbled by bending tabs to slot the pieces together, meaning no glue is required – however some tools such as tweezers or flat nosed pliers may be needed to help construct. The finished model is 13 x 8.8 x 2.6cm and wonderfully detailed from the laser etched decals on the pieces. A great gift for aviation or British military history enthusiasts!
