Complex plastic model kits
Plastic kits are great for the more artistically-inclined as you’ll have to glue the pieces together and paint the final model. Complex metal model kits
Unlike wood kits, the more complex metal kits come in at a lower cost – the metal pieces are laser-etched on sheets, so the kits come with less packaging. Part of the complexity is the size of the model and pieces, which tends to be smaller. So you’ll need a steady hand to assemble these models, which makes these metal model kits more suitable for adults, although they can still make great gifts for kids with a bit of assistance.
